Aquatic Therapy
Healing through the power of water for enhanced recovery and mobility.
What is aquatic therapy?
Aquatic physical therapy involves exercises and treatments performed in a therapeutic pool. This form of therapy utilizes the properties of water, such as buoyancy, resistance, and warmth, to facilitate rehabilitation and improve physical function. Our program is designed to accommodate various therapeutic activities, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for patients of all ages and fitness levels.
Our aquatic therapy program is located at the Idaho Central Aquatic Center (ICAC):
3575 S Findley Avenue Boise, ID 83705
(208) 343-4700
Benefits of Aquatic Therapy:
- Reduced Impact on Joints:
The buoyancy of water reduces the stress on joints and muscles, making it an ideal environment for those with arthritis, chronic pain, or recent injuries. - Enhanced Mobility:
Water resistance helps to improve strength, flexibility, and range of motion without the risk of injury. - Improved Balance and Coordination:
The supportive nature of water helps patients practice balance and coordination in a controlled, low-risk setting.
